Michel Brûlé, M&M Investments, Chairman of the Board
Michel Brûlé is President of M&M Investments, which provides services to help start-up companies achieve a successful first or second round of financing. As an electrical engineering graduate of the Ottawa University (M.Sc.) and founder of six profitable high-tech firms, Mr. Brûlé has led a fast-paced career combining technical expertise and business knowledge. He was co-founder and Executive Vice-President of InnoMediaLogique Inc. (IML), whose sale has been described as the “Best VC Deal in Canada for 2000”. Mr. Brûlé provides precious contacts in the microelectronic industry and takes part of the Metafoam corporate strategy development.

Richard Carter, Metafoam® Technologies, Director
After completing his Ph.D. in economics, Richard Carter taught economics at Laval University and University of Québec before being recruited as Vice President and Chief economist of National Bank of Canada. At the Bank, he assumed various responsibilities over the years including CFO, CIO, and the presidency of numerous subsidiaries. After leaving the Bank, Mr. Carter became successively CEO of Cognicase-USA, Avensys, and Furtive Networks, all technology-based companies where his leadership contributed to rapid growth and profitability.

Dominic Pilon, Metafoam® Technologies, Director
Before founding Metafoam Technologies, Dominic Pilon completed a master in mechanical engineering at Université de Sherbrooke and INSA Lyon where he performed innovative work in the fields of acoustics, numerical modelling, and materials. Mr. Pilon is the author of five patent applications and of over 20 scientific papers and international conference presentations. He was named the Canadian Young Researcher of the Year in acoustics in 2004 and also received many awards for his entrepreneurial projects. Mr. Pilon discovered metal foams during his Ph.D. studies at Industrial Materials Institute of the National Research Council of Canada (IMI-NRC). Seeing the enormous potential of this technological platform, he started Metafoam Technologies. Metafoam was nominated One of Canada's 12 Best Emerging Technologies Company in 2004 and Most promising Quebec technological company in 2005. Since then, he leads Metafoam's product development efforts.

Réjean Asselin, BDC Capital, Director
Réjean Asselin has over 22 years of engineering, consulting, management, entrepreneurial, and director experience primarily in the telecommunications and IT industry. Prior to joining the BDC Venture Capital Group, he provided management consulting services to start-up companies. Mr. Asselin was the Founder and CEO of Mobiway Inc., a GPS navigation and wireless communications company. Previously to that, he founded and operated a wireless telecommunications engineering practice. Mr. Asselin also held various technology and management positions within two large Canadian consulting firms, namely SNC-Lavalin and CGI Group. Mr. Asselin holds a Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Electrical Engineering) from Université Laval. He currently holds director position at the Boards of Advanced Molecular Imaging, Ulysses Pharmaceutical Products and Paraxip Technologies.

Daniel Cyr, FIER ID & ID Capital, Director
Daniel Cyr is Managing Partner of ID Capital and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Telesystem. With more than twenty years of experience in managing investments and corporate finance, Mr. Cyr holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and is a member of the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec. At Telesystem, Mr. Cyr was involved in dozens of M&A transactions, and in the implementation of over $1.5 billion in financing for Telesystem and the enterprises it has invested in. Prior to joining Telesystem in 1992, he was Director, Finance at the head office of Steinberg and worked for more than four years in auditing and financial modeling at Coopers & Lybrand. Mr. Cyr has sat on the boards of TIW, Microcell Telecommunications, Look Communications, Zone3 and a number of other private information and communications technology companies.

Claude Létourneau, Independent Director
Claude Létourneau brings over 20 years of senior-level management experience in start-ups as well as international technological companies. He was President & CEO of Kontron Communications, a global leader in design and manufacturing of CPU boards and system-level solutions to telecom equipment manufacturers. He was Vice-Chairman of iPower Technologies and founding President & CEO of Avestor. Mr. Létourneau presently serves as CEO of Vaperma Inc.
