Copper and Silver Properties
Literature recognizes that copper and silver can act against algae, fungi, and bacteria (e.g. Legionella, E. coli, and streptococcus) found in industrial, drinking, tap, and "breathable" water from spas, shower heads and cooling towers.
Copper-silver ionization acts more quickly and efficiently against this kind of bacteria in combination with chlorine than chlorine alone and, except for chlorination, copper remains one of the efficient method to kill bacteria in drinking water. Copper is also complementary to chlorine, which can hardly penetrate biofilms and leaves a poor concentration in stagnant waters.
Performance
Preliminary tests conducted at external laboratories show that all E. coli bacteria contained in water are killed after 15 minutes of contact with a copper-silver foam.
Considering the various properties of copper and silver, it is clear that Metafoam's material has enviable characteristics to purify water in terms of ecology, costs and performance when compared to chlorine alone.
